Mutya ng Dabaw 2010 Candidates

Johanna Monica Yu

Age: 22
Course and Profession: Industrial Engineer
Community Project: Education For The Out of School Youth

Who is the new Dabawenya? Define and provide the concept of a new Dabawenya.

A new Dabawenya is someone who is strong-willed, independent and compassionate. She fights for what she believes in, is well equipped with wisdom and grace and most of all helps her family and community the best way she can.

What are the issues and concerns confronted by the new Dabawenya?

Currently, we are undergoing a global crisis. The effects can be felt all over the city. Our graduates are under employed and some are forced to stop going to school to help their families.

What programs and advocacies can you suggest as a response to these issues? Issues related to question number 2.

I really believe that it is through education that our community will prosper. By providing our people with the proper knowledge and skills, we open more opportunities for livelihood and self-sustainability. My advocacy is education for the out-of-school youth.

winning the mutya crown isn't purely luck at all. if you win, consider it God's will because He has a purpose. and that's for you to find out what His purpose is upon your life. finding God's will requires us to seek Him in prayer. Humbly ask Him for direction and share with Him your desire to accomplish His will. this involves placing faith and trust in Him knowing that He has a perfect plan and purpose for our lives.
